Fake IPL PlayerFake IPL Player (FIP) pours his heart out in his first interview ever.

To contact FIP, we took a few wild guesses of his email id. And to our utter surprise, one of them turned out to be correct. Ironically, the easiest of the guesses was the right one.

FIP verified his identity in a way that only he can and also agreed to an email interview. He chose not to answer several of our questions, but was gracious enough to answer some. He has confirmed that this is his first interview ever.

Take a look at the email interview Q & A…

Q: Why did you start the blog?
FIP: The story had to be told by someone. And looks like I was the chosen one. I didn’t plan the blog. It happened.

Q: How did the blog spread like wildfire? Did you market the blog? If yes, how did you go about it?
FIP: No, there was zero marketing effort. All I did was write. The blog spread on its own.

Q: Why did you choose not to disclose yourself?
FIP: Because the story isn’t over yet. There’s a lot more to share with the world. Everything would have been over with the disclosure.

Q: Why did you choose not to come out in the media and become a household name, become famous?
FIP: There’s some difference between Dil** and FIP, and it’s better for all of us if that difference stays.

Q: Did the abuses and criticism hurt you?
FIP: If I dish it out, I should be able to take them as well. No. The abuses didn’t hurt me at all. In fact, I enjoyed reading them. And there were many readers who were very constructive in their criticism. They helped me stay grounded and also improve my writing. I thank them. I owe them a party.

Q: Why did you say that you are not the marrying type?
FIP: Because I am not the marrying type.

Q: Have you been writing a long time?
FIP: This was my first foray into the world of writing. And I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Q: Why did you stop writing? The world craves for the kind of fan following you had built.
FIP: I had nothing more to write then. Also, I needed to reflect on how the fan following was impacting me. I had to do a reality check.

Q: What if your fans don’t return now after the break?
FIP: When I started the blog, there were no followers. But I still enjoyed it. I will continue to write as long as I enjoy it and as long as I have something interesting to write, even if nobody is reading them.

Q: When will you start writing again?
FIP: I leave for England on Friday. I will start writing just before I leave. You can expect my post probably Thursday night or Friday morning.

Q: What can your readers expect this time round?
FIP: More of the same and, hopefully, even better.
